In Case You Missed It...

Monday: Is Fame a Bad Thing?
Asks the question... err... "Is fame a bad thing?" and presents the idea that it is not, as long as we're continually allowing God to use us where we are, in every situation, famous or obscure.

Tuesday: Sermonspice
A post that earned me a little credit from Sermonspice.com, and one that asks for opinions on moving backgrounds that are used at many church fellowships these days.

Wednesday: Living as Holy as a Pastor
While pastors and church leaders are called to a different "job" than laypeople, there is no standard that allows for them to be "more holy." "As the people in our church fellowships live out their lives, we ought to see them grow in knowledge, wisdom, love, and boldness as their faith is built larger and larger upon the foundation of Christ, and this transformation should have outwardly visible results."

Thursday: Historical vs. Modern "Worship"
Lifted questions from Mandy Thompson's blog:

  • Do we have a right use of our knowledge of historical forms of worship?
  • Do we have accurate knowledge of historical forms of Christian worship?
  • Do you think a right use of this knowledge could help?
  • Are we in bondage to our own culture?

Friday: Going Through the Motions
"Going through the motions -- bad when done for other people, good when obeying God." What about that statement? I've been trying to pick it apart and apply it to different situations (or not). I suppose the heart of the matter lies in what it means to "go through the motions." Will be revisiting this in the coming week. (Happy Independence Day!)

Saturday: a postless day
Spent the day Saturday constructing a deck, which is partially finished and on which I'm sitting as I type this. I'm thankful for friends and family!
