Some Styles...

As I slipped my checkered Vans onto my feet the other day, looking down past the hole torn in the knee of my jeans, my first thought was, "Hey, I could've gotten away with this outfit back in '86!" My second thought was, "Hey, I did get away with this outfit back in '86!" Sure, I'm dating myself (errr... is that what "monogamy" means?), but that's okay. I just think it's cool to see that some styles that were out (really out) have come back in.

Regarding the reusing of things, I find myself wanting to repeat some of my previous blog posts (or at least, the thoughts that have been in them), because many of the basic principles I like to bring up are things for which I'm still finding a wide application in my own life; I seem to want to keep reemphasizing them.

In Paul's letter to Titus, in which he tells Titus how the older, wiser leaders in the church should mentor leaders, he says, "And you yourself must be an example to them [the young men in the Church] by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us." (Titus 2:7-8, NLT)

"Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching."

And as I close this, I see that the point of the post has nothing to do with checkered Vans and holey blue jeans. I think I'll leave it in there, anyway.

You should probably continue to reemphasize your posts. If most people are like me (no comment) then it takes more than once to get a point across. Keep up the good work!
