Original Music -- "Easy to Smile"

Welcome to the second post in which I present some old original music for your downloading pleasure! Thanks to Christy for saying in the comments somewhere that she likes this song.

This one features a line that uses the word "garnered" in a way that isn't absolutely right. However, I wanted to sound kind of intelligent, and neither "found a way to get and keep" nor simply "got" really worked there.

Right-click here and select "Save Target As," (or "Save As") to download the MP3 to your hard drive and listen to it willy-nilly (or burn it onto a CD or whatever), or just left-click and your browser should automatically play it. I suppose I should set up a PayPal account so that you can lavish tons of money upon me. Starving artists and all, you know...

Lyrics:

Easy to Smile
by Dean Lusk
(c) 1994 by Dean Lusk

Johnny was a poor man, or so I was told.
He lived by the river in a shack,
And that was almost all
that he could call his own.

Johnny had a secret that he would tell everyone:
He shared wealth with a friend called the Son.
And people wondered how the man without a dime
garnered his perpetual smile.

Chorus:
Some say it's easy to smile when you've got everything.
Johnny always said that was true,
'Cause he had everything that his heart desired.
I'm sure he would have wished the same for you.

Johnny died a rich man, according to some.
He lived by the words of Three in One,
And, giving love away, he gained more every day;
Some examples just never die.

Chorus 2x
