Jesus once said, "I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32, NASB, also found in Mark 2:17) Have you ever thought He was peppering that statement with a bit of irony? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Jesus had complete freedom to say, "I have not come to call those who think they are righteous..." (as the NLT renders the passage), but He didn't.
