Prayer Request

My wife's uncle (a Christ-follower) passed away in the wee hours of the morning. His family is a closely-knit one, and this will be difficult. Please pray for the family, that they will know peace and rejoicing and that Jesus Christ will be lifted up through this situation.

I own a BlackBerry Pearl, and I recently set it up with a fairly non-obtrusive computer-sounding blip for e-mail notification. Within minutes of my sending the above information to our church fellowship's e-mail group, my Pearl began to make fairly non-obtrusive blips, and seemed to go on forever. I can't tell you how encouraging it is to see one simple reply saying something like "We're praying. Let us know what we can do. Seriously." When you get a large number of those replies, it's a huge understatement to say that it's seriously touching and encouraging.

When you pray over someone's situation, don't neglect to let them know you're doing so.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can't tell you how discouraging it is to send out a prayer email and hear nothing. On the other hand it is so encouraging to be told that someone is praying for you. Dean, you are so good at that!

I'm so sorry to hear that about your wife's uncle. She and her family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for being an exhorter and encourager for us. Now it's our turn! We are praying for you.

Dean, Preston and my prayers are with your family.

There is nothing more encouraging than knowing those you care for and worship with are responding to your cry for prayer. It gives great meaning to "3 or more strands" are stronger... what a testament to church family.
