About to get ready to head to a local church, The Rock Family Worship Center, to attend a "Worship Leaders' Fellowship" hosted by Lenny LeBlanc.
While I'm excited at the prospect of meeting Lenny LeBlanc, I'm actually more excited to have the chance to get together with like-minded Christ-followers and Church leaders. This is something I've wanted to see for a long time, and have worked together with Jan Owen from The Brook for years to get something like this going. We've met with limited success along the way, but maybe a worship leader with name recognition may be necessary to have it stick.
Meetings like this are critical, in my opinion, in helping Church leadership to understand that church fellowships (of like essential beliefs) are not just clustered groups of people, but parts of a vast body of believers working on their own areas of the same goal: to touch people with the message of Jesus Christ's love and redemption (either physically by seeing that justice is done or by telling others our news).
1 Corinthians 12:12 says the same thing today as it did when I posted it the other day: "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ."

Interesting how the verses never seem to change, eh? :) Seriously, though, even across various translations the meaning is the same. And yet, at times, you'll glean different nuggets of info from the same passage.
