Chan on the Church

Sweet! Francis Chan seems to have taken note of my post about "the Church." (Uh... right.)

Check out his phenomenal and toe-stepping article on Catalystspace.com, called A Gathering Force. For a teaser, here's the first paragraph:

Is there any logic in believing that God started His Church as a Spirit-filled, loving body with the intention that it would evolve into entertaining, hour-long services? Was he hoping that one day people would be attracted to the Church not because they care for one another, not because they are devoted to Him, not because the supernatural occurs in their midst, but because of good music and entertainment?

It would be real easy for me to make a comment like "that is of course assuming your service is only an hour long and it is entertaining". But I won't do it. :)

Returning the Church to way it was meant to be is an uphill battle. But I think it is definately one worth fighting. But where do we start? I think it has to start small, within ourselves, and then "infect" those around us.
